How work is going....

Great! I know that it sounds totally lame, but I LOVE this job! Is it tiring? Yes. Is it hard work? Yes. But it's also social & invigorating in ways that I can't quite explain. The bosses are more like "conductors", so that's really cool. And the customers have been so excited to have us open. On Fri, there was barely standing room, people were waiting in checkout lines for over an hour (they were all open & we were working at full speed!).

So, one step down, one step closer. Next move- apply for spring semesters! Oh & 7wks more until ins! :) It's 200hrs & 105 days of employment.

Ok, now for a work rant- The whiney pg chick must die! I work with 3 (that i know of) pg women. One of them is driving me nuts! She's in general a bitch, often walking around with a scowl on her face. I'm really confused as to how she got hired, but some people are really good at faking their way through interviews. So anyway, it started over the w/e. Someone asked her if it was a pedometer she's wearing & her response was "Yeah, I have to. I totally don't want to get FAT during this pg, so I walk 5 miles a day. I just really would be pissed if I get FAT through this." I held my tongue, but that just irritates me anyway. When she left the room, I mentioned to someone else that it's more important to grow a healthy human & that she should be thankful for the ability to do so as there are many women who'd give anything to be able to.

So, last night, there were 5-6 pallets that came in PLUS 3 pallets of wine. The weather here has been really crappy the past couple of days, it was raining out & the idea was to get them in, broken down, & staged before everything got ruined. (uh, that basically means unloaded & wheeled out to the floor to be stocked) So, I'm back there in the middle of unloading my 3rd pallet & this one was all beverages. And due to the rain on the plastic, I'm getting dripped on. It was honestly not fun, but I could either waste time griping, or just truck through it & I chose the latter. Well, BitchFace walks back & starts complaining about how she's been working in wet produce ALL DAY. And how she is SOOO SICK of it, it's been like 7hrs straight! (really? that's not what the sched said.) I truely bit my tongue on that one. Ever have one of those mental images though where you chuck an entire case of Pel.legr.ino at someone's head? I did. She's almost 6months & I'm really hoping that she quits soon. Or that her attitude catches up with her & they get rid of her.

Anyway, the other 2 pg women are cool. One's rather young (19-21? ish?), due in Jan & really sweet about it. She'll still jump in & do whatever needs done. The other is prob close to or in her 40's. She has dealt w/IF, she has a near teen (he was natural), & 9yr old twins (adopted). This baby was a total surprise & she's about 3months. Having been through IF, she sensed it in me & has been really sweet about the whole thing. She had a spotting scare yest & had to go to the dr. So she had fresh u/s pics & asked if I wanted to see them. (i did, they were awesome) To know to ask though was really sweet of her.

Anyway, that's my wk in a nutshell. I didn't sleep well last night & need to get to bed. Love all y'all!

2 more days till opening...

I must admit I'm really excited about it. Also somewhat nervous. I'm hoping that all our shoppers will realize that we're new & be cool about it.

DH is finally getting pd! The check came into the office on Mon, CSB deposited it & got the paperwork to the accountants. So we will finally get to catch up on bills before someone sends a lynch mob.

Did I tell ya'll that we're moving? Not far, just to the other side of G'ville. It's a really cool house actually. It belongs to a friend of ours in the cong, she had to move out a yr ago due to the unfun parts of aging. So, we've been chatting with her younger sis who's been taking care of it since. It needs some updating, so the deal is lowered rent & we do a lot of the work. The really good deal of it will be that we can get all the flooring at my dad's cost.

Not much else...I've got the first 2 rows of my blanket done & am almost done with the 3rd. I'll try to post pics soon. I should take a couple of it "in progress". [i'm assuming you all want to see it ;) ]

I'm not sure if I've never seen this commercial, or if it's just never mattered to me, but it actually made me tear up. I know that feeling & it's one of the worst places to be. But, that's another topic.

If you don't hear from me in the next couple days, it'll be because I'm dead-tired & unable to move my fingers enough to type! :)

It's a fun game!

When I was younger, there was a cash register grocery store toy that I thought was really cool. One of my friends (ok, all little girls actually have frenemies) had it, but didn't share very well. This week, I've done nothing but play that game. It's a brand new store, we open on the 22nd, so training is a lot of fake shopping. We take turns being the shoppers & the cashiers. It can get a little boring to be a shopper, so we do treasure hunt lists or find things that start with a certain letter, today mine was "w". I keep referring to it as "playing" though. :) And todayI got to help prepare the sampling. It was cool. I've been asked what I'll be doing once we open- Pretty much everything. It's how they operate, an employee spends a couple hrs cashiering, then changes to a couple hrs stocking/facing, jumps in & does bagging, goes out & gets carts, helps at the sampling station. It's really very awesome for those who like to stay busy, but may find doing the same thing for 8hrs tedious.

My feet are sore, but I come home feeling happy. At first, I was thinking that I'll loose weight from all the running around. After tasting a few things today, I'm not so sure that I won't be putting it right back on.

Unfortunately, the thing with CSB did not go well. DH still has not gotten a check. That's prob about all that I should say about it. We are purSUEing further action. And on that front, Misty totally rocks! :)

I got stung by a wasp last night. Stupid thing followed me into the car, I went to put on my seat belt, heard bzzzbzz & felt pain! I'm allergic, no fun. I had to run back into my parents' house & take a big dose of allergy meds. My face & arm still went numb & I had a hard time swallowing for about an hr or so. But today, the welt was gone.

Ummmm, sorry. I have no life! Thanks for reading anyway though. Love ya all!

Nothing new

This is just a quick hi. I started training yest, it was actually fun. We are already turning people away (not open yet) so I know that we'll be busy.

Still fighting CSB. He's back now, but not returning calls. >:o/ I've had enough of it! He has until 2pm, then we will get a labor lawyer involved & have them review ALL the jobs DH has done there to see if any of them should have been pd at time & a half. It will cost him a LOT less to just get the damn check written!

Ummm, that's really it for me today. I have to get going. Lots to do, not much time. :)

"Can't you just play a video game?"

"Or something else normal?" That's what DH said. He doesn't think that looking up multiple websites about Russian/Ukrainian adoption of older children is "normal". This from the guy who plays fa.rmvil.le, fro.ntie.rwo.rld, ca.fe.vil.le, etc & last night was begging me to join CV so he could buy a new piece of equipment for his fake restaurant. Hrmph!

Have I told you any of the crap that's gone on with his job (that prompted his job change)? If not, brief recap- the cheapskate bstrd (csb) he's been working for has been basically short changing us all yr. When they switched over to doing water damage, it was supposed to be really good money. Only CSB decided that the worker's didn't get paid until the money came in for the job. This is NOT the normal way of paying for this sort of work. Well, there were times that we waited 30-45 days to get pd on big jobs. Part of the delays were due to the incompetent office idiot who's ONLY job there is to take pics of the jobs & to submit the paperwork to the ins companies. SHE is on salary, so why should she care if commission sheets are done on time? Nice when the money comes in, only they were giving DH checks of $200-300/wk in the meantime. That's not really enough income, even when I'm working. So, by the time we would get the big check, we owed more in late fees for everything than it was worth. So, now it's down to getting his last check, which is close to $5k before taxes. By law, they should be giving it to us TODAY. However, the CSB has decided to hold it ransom until he gets back in the country on Tues & has a final meeting w/DH. I am SO MAD!!!! There's nothing more to say! All yr, the CSB has been promising dh one thing, then reneging or putting it off until he's "back in the country". (he's currently on his 7-8 trip *this year* to Co.lum.bia) There is not an offer that he could make to DH that would make him stay!

And the most infuriating part of it is that there isn't really much of anything we can do! DH filed a complaint with the labor board. And he filled out a complaint with a local news station that does a "7 o.n. yo.ur. si.de" thing. So, we're going to make sure that CSB gets some hassle from this, but none of it will get the check to us any sooner. If I could figure out who to submit it to, I'd have some form of gov up in his face about all the trips to Co.lum.bia. I think he's got a new bride over there (5th wife), maybe INS should look into it? Or IRS could do a business audit? Sorry, I'm not usually vindictive, but this guy has crossed the line!

Ok, I'll stop now while I can still get my BP back down.

I got it & "her"

Good news first- I got the job!!!! :o) I never really thought I'd be excited about working in a groc store, but it's step one of the plan. (get a job in a place that doesn't make me crazy[er]) The next part will be applying & getting into college. The guy called me back before 5 yest & I've got orientation this Sat! :) I'm super-excited! The pay is a little less, but since I haven't been making ANYTHING not going in the last 2 months, it's better than current. And there's a 10% emp discount. Ins starts after 700hrs (i think) & everyone who works there gets the same benefits. Plus the uniforn is a Hawaiin shirt, can't go wrong there, right?

Bad news- I have company. Stupid af showed up today. On the plus side, that's a 29 day C, so they're getting shorter. But who of us really ever wants to see her anyway? I am in cramp-hell right about now. Also good is that I'm not going nuts, I've wanted to cry for no reason all day, so at least now I know why.

Other- where IS everyone lately? Don't make me do a roll call!

Error 503 drama

Ok, so it isn't really drama, but I've noticed that posts with that word in the title get more comments. ;) Error 503 is getting annoying though, so if the Blogger gods ever check these things they should fix it.

Before I get too far into this post, I'll tell you that I *think* the interview went well. I should hear back by the end of the wk. If I don't, they've decided to go a different direction. I have to say, I could really use this right now. I wish that I would've been able to suck it up & go back to my job at L1, but I'm only human & have limitations. I can't tell you how nice it would be to have a fresh start at a place where my sis isn't.

Other stuff is all just sorta random. But there's something I'll talk about. My feelings on telling people about our IF & my pcos have changed. No, I'm still not going to walk around with a billboard & anounce it to random strangers, but I've found relief in talking about it. I'll give an example- (there may be some trigs in this) We went to a 5-yr anniversary party on Sun night for a couple who've recently moved here. They are also expecting their first baby, a girl, by the end of the month. After the first pang of seeing the pg belly, I decided to just relax & enjoy the evening. It was really fun actually. Seeing as it was a dinner, I had called ahead to see what they were cooking (very rude, i know, but food allergies force that sort of faux pas. they understood since they deal w/food allergies too). So I brought my own pasta & since mom made the cake, she also made a GF cake. Well, there was one older sis who had asked my mom about the GF thing, what happens if I eat it, etc. So mom explained the pcos thing to her. her responce was "wow, i bet that would make it hard for them to concieve too.." Mom told her it does & it's a source of great pain to us. I hadn't known about that until after, but I don't mind it.

After a few of the other people had left, we were sitting around chatting & the woman who hosted the party asked me about the GF thing. So I explained pcos to them. And told them about the m/c. I was surprised by the understanding. The woman who hosted the party (she's the mom of the "groom") has herself been through m/c. Her sister went through a total of 10! (she had 6 before she had her first child, then the others between children, she has 4 children now.) I took the chance to tell her that I may not go to the baby shower & it's nothing against her, they're just too difficult for me. She completely understood & we discussed that I could go visit at a time that it's just us & I wouldn't have to put on a happy face through a whole party. I still strongly believe that I will get through IF. In the meantime though, I can't keep limiting myself to living under my rock for the fear of hurt. (it's a good rock though & at least i can decide who joins me there)

My bbs still hurt pretty bad & I was still lactating as of last night. Today, I've felt a little crampy though & now I'm starting to think that they may just be crying about AF coming. If she is visiting me, I'll try to keep her so she'll leave one of you alone!
I have a 1o:3o interview @ trader joes. Send me job vibes! :)

An award & a gripe

Thank you Kitty & Dot for this award! The rules are that I share 7 things about me, then pass the award onto 7 other bloggers. (i think there's something about letting them know too.)

Ok, 7 things about me. I'm trying to come up with stuff I haven't told you before. It's a little hard, I tend to be very open on my blog, but here goes-

1. I hate personality tests. My ex-fiancee was totally into them & used it as an excuse for everything. I think that's crap. Personalities are fluid, you can add to yourself or remove parts you don't like as you age & grow as a person.

2. My parents had to give away my first cat because I was mean to it. In my defence, I was only 2.

3. I've got an inner nerd. Mine likes Star Trek (i watched every series except voyager) & Quantum Leap (i admit that i have a thing for scott bakula!)

4. I did not like ice cream or cool whip until I was well into my teens. For CW, it was a texture thing.

5. Another food one, I never eat all the frosting off a peice of cake. Esp if it's an end piece.

6. I could not swim until I was 12 & even though I LOVE it, I have to have goggles or I won't go past wading.

7. The 2 toys I wanted, but never got were Lincoln Logs & a Magic Nursery Baby. (i'm sure as heck not paying $85 for one now though!) I grew up just fine though.

Ok! There are my 7. Aren't you happier now that you know? ;) As for nominations, I don't have that much brain power today. I'm taking the ultimate cop-out- YOU! You are nominated if you're reading this & haven't done it yet. So have fun!

Now my gripe. It's TMI, but I'm griping about it anyway. MY BOOBIES HURT!!!!! As in, the movement of them when I walk is just about making me cry. I've been lactating sinces Sat. I'd LOVE to think that this is some pg sign, but it's happened before. In the catagory of trying not to stress about this C- today is CD27. I had a LOT of ewcm on days 11-15. I spotted on days 14 & again on day 19. And, though we're tab, there was plenty of BDing while the ewcm was around. So, there we have it. I'll test if af doesn't show by CD32.

That's enough info about me today! :)
