I passed!!!!

99% :^D I was two WORDS off from 100. I had the right answer, but used the wrong word. I'm ok with that, happy I made it!

Test is over

I think I did well. :^) They freaked me out so bad! I had two tests stapled together, so there were people turning in their tests & I still feel this stack of pages under my hand. I'm thinking "AHHHH! How slow am I!?!?!?!" Was so relieved to turn that page & realize the mistake. LOL! Whew! Gonna eat now. Love ya all, thanks so much for the good wishes, I'll let you know my score later.

By this time tomorrow...

I'll know if I still have a job! Our final test is tomorrow, to pass you must get 90% or higher. I know the info, so not too worried, but what a week. It's a LOT of information in a very fast pace & short amount of time. My brain is so fried. I am literally spent at the end of the day. Poor DH has gotten the brunt of that a little, though I'm not trying to snap at him. Then I almost started crying because the groc store I stopped at has stopped carrying the Tofutti (soy) sour cream I like. I feel a little bad for the checkout guy who had the misfortune of getting me in his line.

To make the week more fun, at the ripe old age of 28, I am the second oldest person in our class. I feel like I'm surrounded by middle schoolers. Ok, so they're really somewhere from 19-23, but still..... Freshly graduated, a couple of newly weds, some who still have mommy cleaning their messes & sched their dentist apps. I feel like yesterday's model, old, worn out & boring. We're given assignments & all I hear is the rapid "tictictictic" of the keyboard while I'm deafly going 'what did he say?'. Mom keeps telling me that my real life experience will do me good & there will be things I can do better than these kids (go potty all on my own, for example). I'm hoping so. I've seen a couple instances so far where it's obvious that they haven't grown up yet.

Then by this time next week, I'll know if I'm good enough to go solo. Seriously, I know there are a lot of stupid people on the planet, but try to be nice to those who answer the phone. It takes a LOT of work to get to the point they're at & there are reasons for the way they're leading you through the call.

Well, it's getting late & I still have 2 more chapters to read & a little review to go over. I've seriously been up until 11 or 12 reading every night. I look forward to training being over & getting back to keeping in touch with y'all! (((((HUGS)))))

Still alive!

Hi all! Just real quink to let you know I'm still alive. Training is brutal, TONS of homework (we're bound by fair housing laws). I'll try to catch up later & check what's new with everyone. Hope ya'll are having a great day! :^)

Summer is almost here!

Summer starts in 2 days! Though it's already stinking hot here. It's getting irritating, it'll be hot & sunny ALL DAY until I get off work, then it rains. So I'm not getting pool time! Grrrrr! Tomorrow is my last day here, then I start my new job on Mon! :^) I'm getting really excited about it, but I'm a geek, I like learning new things. My current boss hired my mom & is hiring one other lady to take my place. Yup, I'm that good! Lol! Not really, he just thinks it would work better if they're able to trade off Sat & stuff. Mom is excited & has been in here training with me this wk.

I'm beginning to feel like there may be a light in the tunnel of this TTC crap. Not having ins has really been holding me back in getting anything diag or treated. First, there's the fear of "just how much is this going to cost me?". I can put a number on it if it's what I think it is, but what if it's not & more testing is needed? Second, there's "will getting a diag now shoot me in the foot for future ins benefits?" Most group policies cover pre-x, but if I wasn't able to get a job w/ins & needed to buy something on our own, how much would that raise the rate? If it was even covered? So, it's another 6months, but I know it's coming. In the meantime, I'm going to keep working on my weight & health. Can't hurt, might help.

Does anyone remember me saying that I had an idea for a book? Well, I wrote the forward last night & mapped out an outline for the rest of it. I don't know if I'll ever get it published or anything, but thought it would be fun & possibly therapuetic to try writing it. For all I know, it'll totally suck & be pointless drivel that no one will ever want to read.

Here's a pic of a couple who've gotten summer started already! Enjoy! (these are not my cats, the pic is from one of my fav websites, click here to see more. there's a funny video on pg 3, but idk how to upload it.)

I can't pee on command! & other randoms

I had to go in for a drug test yesterday for the new job. Have I ever mentioned that I can usually pee at least every hour on the hour? So I'm thinking no biggie, peeing is what I do. Yup. Until I need to, that is. I had to take the test twice because the first time there just wasn't enough. My advice to any who need to do one- Lipton Green Tea, 20 oz & 15 minutes later, we were good to go! Now stop laughing!

I hit a pretty cool milestone this wk! I have officially lost 30 lbs since moving South! :^D Before you get jealous, keep in mind that I still have a LOT more to go, but so far have lowered my BMI by 4.5 points! Some day, after I've gotten to where I want to be, I'll admit to y'all how heavy I got. I'm determined to keep going & NEVER get that high again!

Does anyone else want to slap this girl? Seriously? Sherry, I tip my hat to you for being able to answer nicely! I know it would be deleted, but I'm sorta feeling like ganging up on her & telling her what's what!

I've decided to do the Fertile Scope this month. So far, no ferning. I think I'm going to start temping again next month. I also started taking Apple Cider vinegar yest. It's really good for the immune system. I bought natural, with "the mother" in it (healthy bacteria strands). It should also help cut down on some of the skin flareups (hopefully).

Starting to get excited about starting the new job! Especially because it'll start the 6month countdown to ins & if I happen to get pg before then (hahahahahaha! that's a good one) the L&D would still be covered.

Mom just got here with lunch, so I'll talk to y'all later! :^)

Hi! (and a poll)

Well, I've turned into a bad blogger lately! Sorry ladies! I am in a slight depression funk that I am trying ot pull out of. It has to do with my sis & I'm thinking of how to word it so it'll make sense to anyone.

I had a pretty mild w/e. The most exciting thing was that I found a 2MB phone memory chip at Sta.ples for $8 (complete with an adaptor chip!). Yaaay! My dad was cool enough to fix the brakes on our car. It REALLY needed it! Oh & we changed car ins to Pro.gres.sive because I was sick of Gi.e.co taking out different amounts every month!

So, due to writer's block, I'll post a poll. This was inspired from watching Bri.deZ.ill.as on free on demand last night. Really, I'd like to know how many of those couples stay together! If you're not married yet, watch a fw episodes & take notes on what NOT to do!

1. How old were you when you got married?
2. How much time did you have to plan the wedding?
3. Was it a big wedding?
4. Did your DH help with any of the planning?
5. Did you allow other family members to have a say in things?
6. How did you choose your bridesmaids?
7. Were you ok with any of them being prettier/thinner/taller/tanner, etc than you?
8. Did you choose dresses to fit the bridesmaids, or bridesmaids to fit the dresses?
9. Did your DH have any kind of bachelor party? If yes, did you dictate it?
10. Did any one descibe you as a bridezilla, control-freak, or bitch? If yes, do you agree?
11. What would you have done differently?

Ok, I'll post my answers in the comments! :^)

I just want to sleep

I think it may be in part from AF, but I'd be perfectly happy to go to bed & not get up for about 3 days. The other thing it could be is stress. There's a lot going on with my little sis, I am really not ready to post about it yet, but what she's doing is breaking my heart & will change the entire nature of our relationship. Plus, I'm starting the new job in a little over a week. I know I'll do just fine, but I am somewhat nervous.

Anyway, I'll tell you about my day yesterday! I had a day off (yaaay!), so mom & I started out by running out to g-ma's to get her deposit & bring it into the bank. G-ma is so obnoxious. First, she's upset that mom wouldn't run all the way back out there to give her the deposit receipt. "I can't start writing out checks until I know that the money is in the bank." (she has those new checks that deposit the money to the creditor as you're writing it) Mom told her that she would call her when it was deposited & save the reciept to give it to her the next time she sees her. "Well, I don't know if I trust you" What??? Then why is she having mom do the deposit in the first place?!?!? Gaaah! So, we're at g-ma's & of course she doesn't have her hearing aides in. It's a lot of WHAT?, I CAN"T HEAR YOU, YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP! We did maybe an hour of that nonsense, before I reminded mom that we should go to get the deposit in on the right business day.

After we did g-ma's deposit, I had to drop off a W2 for a loan that DH & I are trying to redo. I get out, go to step up on the sidewalk, trip, caught myself but banged my head into the storefront window. Damn! That hurt! And bruised my ego because of course EVERYONE saw it. I'm ok, it just jolted my neck a little. We'd better get the loan thing redone smoothly though after that!

Then it was on to MY bank to figure out what the hell was wrong with my debit card. Money in the bank, but when we went to use it, got an "unautherized transaction" message. It turns out that my # was in a database that was comprimised, the new card was sent out 4/29, didn't you get it? Let's see, if I'd gotten it would I be in here asking what's going on??? I had them cxl out the new one & reissue it. Watch, I'll get the first one in tomorrow's mail now. Anyone want to guess how inconvenient it is to not have a card? I found my checkbook, but does anyone really even take those anymore?

By then, it was agreed that lunch was needed. Doc Chey's (really good Asian, with a Thai flare). The pot of hot Sake with my eggplant & tofu red curry was awesome & needed. The afternoon went much better after that (mom, dh & i hung out in the pool until it got too cold. was 90*, but cloudy).

So, new rule of thumb for days off- start the morning w/hot Sake & avoid g-ma, banks, & large glass windows.

I'm bored!

Ok, who's online today? I'm bored (think i said that already!).

I've been practicing my typing. Tell me again why it's so bad to look at your hands? I can go pretty fast if I can look down! Grrrr! I know why I'm so paranoid about this- because I did not test well on the typing portion of their test & the guy who hired me pointed out that I need to improve! So, I'm trying because I am a perfectionist.

Anyway, for those who asked. The base pay is not actually any higher than what I'm making now, but there are differencials for 'premium' shifts, so may end up higher depending on my schedule. There is ins after 6 months, they pay 75% of the premium. I asked about it & it's BC/BS, sounds like a PPO. 6 months seems like a long time, but not really. It seems like this yr just started & we're already 6 months into it. It'll go by quickly & gives me something to look forward to.

The cool thing about today is that I already have most of the cleaning here done. All I need to do is clean the main bathroom. I did the vacuuming this morning. You should see the spiders we get around here! Wowza! And they prefer palaces. There can literally be a clean corner one day & a web mansion the next. It's crazy! Unfortunately, doing all that this morning got my allergies all worked up. Took Fl.ona.se, but still feeling kinda blah.

It's hot today, so if the sun comes back out, it would be a good day to spend down by the pool. Ok, someone come talk to me! See what happens when I get bored? I start babbling!

GOT IT!!!

Thanks for the responces to the earlier post. I'm feeling better now.

I got the job! I start on the 22nd. I'm going to be practicing typing between now & then to try to improve my speed, cause basically I suck at it. Though it's really never been an issue at other jobs, even DTV. I found a free website that I think will help. If anyone else needs practice, or would like to test their skills click here.

Also, I'll try not to be too mean when I say this, but who are Stephiev & ec4245???? I've searched their past posts & don't think either of them has hit the 12 month mark. What ever happened to ladies introducing themselves on our board? Or, I could just be bitchy, I haven't had lunch yet & it's 2pm!

Ok, my boss just brought me Chinese (i love him!). Gonna eat now! :^)

OOO-WWWWIEEE!!!!

I'm going to take a moment and whine. My left ovary feels like it's going to explode. If that's it's plan, I would appreciate it just doing so & getting it over with!!!! It hurts to move, walking is difficult. And it really pisses me off to have this much pain & know that I'm not getting pg MONTH AFTER FREAKING MONTH!!!!! >:^/

ok, got that out of my system. I'll die quietly now.

TLC

Does anyone else find themselves inexplicably drawn to the 'horror' on that channel? I don't watch the popular shows, but find myself on quite a few that make me say "Really?!?!" more than once & out loud to the tv.

Last night, for example, I was watching the "1/2 Ton Teenager". To be clear, I am a larger person & I have friends from every body shape catagory. But really? A 1/2 ton is 800 lbs! 800! Think a minute about the implications of that. Trying to find things that fit. Not just cloathes, but furniture, or vehicles. It's difficult for many of them to move & they get winded doing things like going to the bathroom. So, they stay sedentary. The show was following 2 boys who were undergoing bariatric surgery at ages 16 & 20. That is such major surgery & esp at those young ages.

It got me thinking, how do these kids GET to this point at such a young age? These are not kids who are doing their best while suffering with a glandular or motabilism issue. It's not like they gain 600 lbs overnight. What are the parents thinking when they see this happening to their children, yet choose to keep waiting on them? At some point, shouldn't it have occured to someone that it was time to shut off the gaming system & go for a walk around the block? When you step on a scale & it no longer registers you, doesn't something click in your own mind that it's time for change?

I don't mean to sound obsessed with looks, because that's not my point here. But even with the surgery & getting most of the weight off, irreparable damage may have already been done to their hearth, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas, bones, etc. They will have to stick to the strict post-surgery dietary restrictions for life now.

It also emphasized to me my own need to keep working on my extra lbs. The changes I've recently made (cutting out all gluten & dairy) haven't been easy & there are more changes to come. In my mind though, it's a matter of health. What food could possibly give you the same satisfaction as knowing that you're taking care of your body?

Alright, that's my odd rant for the day. BTW- the 2nd interview went well (i think) & I'm getting excited about the idea of getting the job. The ins is BC/BS & sounds like a PPO, so that's good, even if it is a long wait. :^) I should know if they want me w/i the next couple of days.

It went well

I have a follow-up tomorrow from 8am-noon. :^)

Don't slap me, but I feel guilty about leaving my boss. He's a really great guy & things have been going well since the jerk control freak left. I talked to him this morning & he said I need to do what's best for me & DH. Then he started asking if I've ever checked how much ins would cost us & what I found. Really though, for semi-decent coverage, it would be $500-600! To get what I'm "used to" from previous jobs would be more like $800, as high as $1200 w/dental & vision. I'd feel bad if he was paying for that for me.

So, then I try to focus on how exciting this could be. I listened to a few calls yesterday & it seems like less yelling at than I got @ DTV, so that would be nice. I wouldn't have as much time to chat w/ya'll, but will just have to do that on breaks & home time. It would be 6 months before ins starts, but I've been here 3x that long & don't have ins. What's 6 months of a wait if I could be expecting by this time next yr?

Have I ever mentioned my insane dislike of change??? Even when things suck & change would be good. I view it as "at least I'm used to the bad that I have now. The next thing could be worse." Crazy, I know. I'll go get one of those valliums from Margriet! ;^) (just kidding!.......it would take something much stronger than vallium! lol!)

EXCITED!!!!

I will risk jinxing it & hope that you all sending me "new job vibes" will work!

I have an interview tomorrow!!!! It's at a central leasing agency (inbound call center) that my sis recently got hired at. It would be $2/hr more than what I'm making now & (the biggie, drumroll please)....... OFFERS INSURANCE!!!!!

C'mon ladies, send out vibes that the guy will see me as the adorable, outgoing, cutie-professional that I am & hire me on the spot! (plus, little sis would get a bonus for referring me)

Also excited- my boss told me how to send pics to my e-mail from my cell phone. I thought you had to have internet on your phone to do that. The funniest thing about it is that my boss is so not technologically advanced. So this was quite a reversal. (really, i've had to help him get into his e-mail before!)

All smiles this afternoon!!!! =^D

I want my own room!

Ugh! I have not really been feeling well all week. Throwing up last Wed left my throat sore & it's been further irritated by allergies. Yesterday I had a pretty nasty sinus headache. I think DH may have allergies too because he's been snoring louder than usual.

So, I didn't do much yesterday & DH ended up making dinner- Chili. Kinda HOT chili. Well, chili=beans=gas. Oh yes & how! My lovely husband came to bed last night & proceeded to fart & snore ALL NIGHT! We keep a fan in our room, I am moving that thing to MY side of the bed, I'll make room & find a spare outlet. I woke up gagging a couple times last night & even remember telling him to go to the couch. He didn't. >:^/

Ok, now that you've had your laugh for the day, here are some cool pics to take you away!

I don't know exactly what state the ones of the mountains are. I took them shortly after we took off from SLC, Utah. I know that it's still the Rockies! The clouds made for some really great turbulence & there were a couple times that I was pretty sure we were going to crash. (i hate flying!)
