I know 2 am will come very early. I don't think DH even has his stuff packed yet! I think it's all set out, but not IN the suitcase! I am doing a lot of eyerolling here. I make a list & then I check things off, then I double check the list. What about you? Are you a planner, or last minute packer?
When we get back tomorrow, mom said she'd hang out with me & help me get some things organized around my house. They general disarray is beginning to drive me batty, but I tend to get side tracked. So, she's going to help me stay on track. :)
In 72 hrs, I'll be at Misty's house! :^D I am sooo excited! I'll have difficulty getting through work Fri & Sat. Interesting thing about time. It flies when we're having fun, but drags when we're expecting something.
Update: apparently he IS packed. I hope so since he has on the tv now. F.ood Ne.two.rk, M.an v.rs Fo.od. They're talking about some bacon cheeseburger that's served on a Kri.spy Kr.ee.me that's been cut in 1/2 & grilled. Gross! They're saying that it's a lot like a Mo.nte Cr.ist.o. Maybe, but still sounds gross.

I survived Monday!
Really, I had my doubts there for a while! I had to try 4 computers at work yesterday until I found one that worked, so I was late clocking in. Then, my first 5-6 calls were women (they are the worst) who snapped at me, then hung up once they got the info they wanted. (hanging up is mean because that leaves me having to finish up notes & process the call before the next one comes in. with high call volume, sometimes that means 3-5 seconds) The calls got a little better throughout the day. But really, it was the 28th, who calls THREE DAYS before they need to be out of their place? Then you're going to yell at me because we don't have exactly what you want? PLAN AHEAD! My mom came up with a saying "your failure to plan does not constitute our emergency".
Anyway, DH is leaving for MT on Thurs. He's excited about going to see his family & I know they'll be happy to have him there. I'm a little bummed to not go, but not as bad as you'd think. I wish they'd flown him from here though. We have to leave here at 2 am to get him to Atl on time!
I've got my own fun plans for this w/e--- I'm going to get to meet Misty!!! I'm driving down on Sat after work (i only work from 8:30-11:15 that day). I'll have to come back home on Sunday, but it'll be soooo fun! Misty wasn't kidding about the hoops. I understand the dangers of meeting people online, but c'mon! How about a vote? Are either one of us a danger? I vote no, we're both very normal people who have a personal understanding of a pretty crappy medical problem (IF). My DH wasn't even the difficult one for me to deal with, it was a concerned "friend". I told him that his concerns were noted. (that probably sounds mean, it's one of those friends who doesn't really know me, or the whole story)
My mom is as excited as we are. She's even loaning me the gps & a sat radio, & checking on my cats while I'm gone. :)

Check your boobies!
Did that get everyone's attention? Lol! The Race was so fun today! It was just amazing to see so many people there. There were 5,000 who showed up. The awesome thing about that it that it was RAINING! Ok, more of a mist, but cloudy, wet, & cold anyway. There was $600,000. total raised.
It was truely touching to see the brave survivors & those who saw them through it. There were also plenty of names of those who fought & lost. :'( There were women, men, young, old, & several different races. (why is it that bad things in life have such a connecting force?) Despite the rain, there was no lack of smiles & cheering. And plenty of tears. There was even support from those who weren't participating. Part of the race took us past a road with traffic & there were plenty of horns, waves, & airhorns.
I did the 5K & finished in 1hr, 4mins. I'm not a professional, so I didn't think that was too bad. I finished & I'm proud of myself for that. Mom & DH both want to do it with me next year. :) I would encourage anyone to do it & will do it again next year if I can. (i'll need toe separating socks though, I blister quickly!)
Keep in mind that your best defence is early detection. Please do your monthly exams, see your dr yearly, start getting mamograms at 35, & encourage all the women you love to do the same. (like i'm doing now!)

I still had to work today. From 3-9pm. I was pleasently surprised when I came home & found that DH got me these. (they're good!) He went to a bakery that does gluten & dairy free items & talked the woman into making them (GF is special order on the w/e). Isn't he a honey? :)
So here I am at the end of a long, yet satisfying, day. (i am going to sleep well tonight!) Sorry I look like crap. I don't think my mascara is even on anymore! I'll post a good pic of me one of these days!

They shot me!
Flu shots don't really hurt. But I did have s/e! My arm was tingly right away, they said that was normal. The rest prob was too, but not fun. I had a headache, my face was flushed & warm, & I had a very hard time controlling my blood sugar today.
It seems to have passed, but I'm feeling worn out. I'm going to bed early so I can get up for the Race tomorrow. I'm super excited about that! I'll try to pos a pic of me sporting my pink! :)

Disclaimers..
Has anyone else ever noticed how many there are? I was listening to a cell phone comercial thins morning. Basically, it said at the end of it that the phone might not work where you want it to & if it does, it'll probably cost more. If you look at car ads, there's the price they want to lure you in with, then the little print that says it's 3x that much as shown. Same with weight loss ads, they have these people rejoicing over how much they loss, then at the bottom "results not typical". I use a disclaimer with every call at work. I say "pricing & availabilty changes quickly". People still don't "get it" though & like to throw fits when things aren't exactly what they heard at the time that they tuned out. Sigh. Anyway, what's your favorite disclaimer?
Here's my other disclaimer & if anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know! I keep finding ads on my blog! I don't want them there & I'm not putting them there. I keep telling it to take them off. Is there a way to permanently disable that?

Decoding "male speak"
Morning! It's my day off & I should totally be cleaning, but I feel so disconnected from you all lately. :)
So, the other night, DH says "you should see E & get your hair colored again soon". I said "I know it's getting long, but does it look that bad? Is it getting dull?" He says "no, I just know how much you like having it done & it's been a while since you've done anything for you". Hmmm, ok. I agree it needs to be done, but he's never the one to suggest it. He's usually the one to 'ok, whatever' me when I say I'm getting it done. So either it's looking bad enough for him to notice (this summer went quickly, it's been 4 months since i had it colored!). Or he's feeling guilty because he's going to see his family next week & I'm not going with. Either way, I'll be getting it done soon. E is moving this w/e, but I'll see when she's unpacked.
Oh, it's the 22nd, so I'm officially 1/2 way to getting ins! :) I'm getting nervous & excited. I've sort of "chilled" about TTC in the meantime. Ok, I know it could still happen, but let's be realistic. If it hasn't happened in the past 4yrs, it's not likely to happen in the next 3 months on it's own. So, I may as well enjoy FD as that while we can. I'm nervous about what all it'll take. Best case scenario- the SA will be good, my tubes will be clear & Cl.om.id or Fe.me.ra will work. It's odd, I say that like those steps are no big deal. In the IF world, that would be getting off easy. But, it's still quite a bit more than most have to do to get pg!
I've been asked about the injury from the fall. I'm better (thanks for asking!). The bruise is mostly gone, though the area is still a little tender. TMI- we've bd'd a couple times & it's fine depending on the position. My knee is giving me more hassle than it's worth! I'm ok for walking, stairs are still an issue & I'm not too fast with side movement. Kneeling/crouching hurts & I realized the other day at the store how many things I buy that are on the bottom shelf.
Ok, this is irritating. I think of all these great subjects for posts, then I do post & can't think of a thing! I guess I better go clean the house now. I'll chat with you later! :)

My 25 firsts
Yes, we are Lemmings. It works for us! ;) This looked fun, so I figured I'd do it. BTW- Thanks for all the opinions on the flu shot. I'm getting mine at 10am next Friday! I hope it works w/o making me sick. (i really wish that the people i work with weren't so hygenically challanged!)
Here are my firsts-
1. Who was your first prom date? ~ I did not go to a prom. I was home schooled in high school. It's not like my dad would've let me go anyway. He was kinda strict (he's much more fun now).
2. Do you still talk to your first love? ~ No. It's better that way. It was my ex-fiancee & it didn't end well. I wish him nothing but happiness, but no communication is best for everyone involved.
3. What was your first alcoholic drink? ~ I'm not sure. My parents had a thought that if you take away the 'taboo' of alcohol, your children will be less likely to get drunk with friends. So I was allowed sips when I was a child (didn't like the flavor) & was allowed 1/2 a wine cooler or a watered down drink by age 16-17.
4. What was your first job? ~ My dad had a cle.ani.ng bu.sin.ess & when I was 13, I went with him on the accounts Sun night. A whole whopping $1/hr.
5. What was your first car? ~ A grey 84 Bu.ic.k Sk.yla.rk. 4 dr, hatchback, 5-speed, mostly rust. I loved that car!
6. Who was the first person to text you today? ~ Mom.
7. Who was the first person you thought of this morning?~ DH. I didn't want him to be late for work.
8. Who was your first grade teacher? ~ Mrs. Mueller (pronounced miller). That was a loooong time ago!
9. Where did you go on your first flight in a plane? ~ To Rapid City SD from MT. It was a few months before the wedding & I wanted to see friends & check if there was anything left with ex. He heard that I was coming & avoided me, so there's my answer.
10. Who was your first best friend and do you still talk?~ I had 2- Jimmy & Janine. I haven't seen Jimmy since I was 8 or so & haven't seen Janine since I was 16. I don't talk to either.
11. Where was your first sleepover? ~ I think Janine's house at about 5-6. Unless the couple I stayed with when little sis was born counts.
12. Who was the first person you talked to today? ~ DH.
13. Whose wedding were you in for the first time? ~ Mine!
14. What was the first thing you did this morning?~ Shut off alarm & took my temp. (then I fell back to sleep, Skittles wanted to snuggle!)
15. What was the first concert you went to? ~ I'm not really a concert person. So I think it was Sawyer Brown a few years back.
16. First tattoo? ~ None, won't get one.
17. First piercing? ~ Ears, at about 6 or something.
18. First foreign country you went to?~ I think my parents took me to Canada as a baby, but I don't remember it.
19. First movie you remember seeing?~ Never Cry Wolf. I was 3 & we saw it in the theater. (i have really young memories, my first memory is from when i was about 18 months old)

Atlanta & opinions please!
Hi Ladies! This will be quick because, well, it's past my bedtime & I'm not really supposed to go around at work 1/2 asleep breathing flames & bursting into tears. (which is totally what happens when i'm sleep deprived!)
Ok, first thing- Atlanta! DH is going to MT to see his family for an extended w/e. (i chose not to take the time off this new into a job, but he totally needs some family time) He is flying out Oct 1 from ATL. I will be driving him & mom is coming with so I don't have to do Atl traffic (yess, i am a big-city-traffic wuss). SO, does anyone live in or near Atl & want to meet up for lunch? I told mom that it would be so cool to get to meet someone & she agrees. Let me know!
Next- Opinions! My job is offering free flu shots to all employees. I think it's a good idea, but here's my only hang-up- They're only available next Friday, the day before the cancer walk. I've never had a flu shot before (they were always in short supply so i've saved them for those who truely need them). I've had the flu 2x in the last 10 yrs, so it's certainly not a yearly occurance, but totally no fun. I work with a bunch of hygenically-challanged people who think nothing of coming to work sick. BUT, if I get one, how bad are the s/e? Would it make me feel so crappy that I couldn't do the race?
And just for fun, answers to 2 more questions-
"If you could only listen to 5 albums for the rest of your life, what would they be?" - Hmm, something by Coldplay (which one has 'viva la vida' & 'lovers injapan'), Metallica 'SM', maybe a Colbie Calliet, Greenday's new one, & one of the BN Ladies. I'd probably cheat & make a couple of extended play mix albums. Though, I think that listening to any music 'for the rest of my life' would probably cut down my life span! I'm recently loving "someone like you" by Kings of Leon, is all their stuff that good?
and"What would you pick as your last meal" (if you were being executed!)- Difficult to imagine that I did anything THAT bad! Sheesh, I never even tried cigarettes! ;) Green Thai Curry! Oh & as long as I would feel the effects from it anyway, garlic bread!

What inquiring minds want to know...
I've been looking forward to this all day! I had a blast reading these, thank you to everyone who sent me questions. :)
"What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in school?" - I'd have to say 6th grade, when af made her debut. I was wearing light colored shorts & she showed in full force. I had to go to the nurses ofice, call my mom, & wait there for her to bring a change of clothes. I don't think too many caught on to what was going on, but I was mortified. (& that trumped the time that i threw up -in class- in kindergarten!)
"What kind of music do you listen to?" - Just about anything! I lean towards modern/popular/light alternative. Like, if you're familiar with xm, my fav channels are Pink, The Blend, Mix, Top 20 on 20, etc. I don't think I've heard a Coldplay song yet that I didn't like. "What kind of vehicle do you drive?" - A white 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic 4-door. Boring, but practical!
"How old are you?"- 28. I'll be 29 at the end of Nov. & would like to stop aging now!
"Do you cook at home or eat out more?"- Cook in. I can do it better, healthier, & cheaper. Except Thai, that's out!

"How is your sister doing after she was disfellowshipped?"- She's..... It's hard to say. She's finally on a med that seems to be good for her, so she's getting more stable.

"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? What would you do there?"- Everywhere! Ok, sorry, that's not really a cop-out answer. But I got to thinking & really could not choose one. I want to ride a gondola in Venice & enjoy a real gellatto w/an espresso. I want to swim at the pristine beaches in Thailand & see just how hot I can take the food. I want to see the museums & enjoy the colorful culture of Madrid. I want to see the Cheery trees in bloom & other gardens of Japan. I want to see the old castles & grren shores of Ireland. I want to hear the thunder of a waterfall in Bazil or Argentina. The list goes on, but you get the idea. Fortunately, I've gotten the chance to see some of the diverse beauty in the US, but if I had a million dollars....
"Where is the craziest place you have had sex?"- BLUSH! In the waiting room of a dr's office. Ok, it was waaay after hrs (we cleaned there) & it was super crazy, because if we'd been caught, it would not have been good for our jobs or the company in general.
"What is your favorite season of the year and why?"- Spring! I like the renewal & the smells & colors. And mostly that winter is over. The days get longer, but it's before it's too hot.
"Do you and DH enjoy the same kind of music?" NO! But we've both learned to open up a little more. I actually figured out that I like the Metallica SM cd. He went to the Rolling Stones concert w/his brother as his "date". I gave in & went to Trace Atkins. He puts up with me choosing the station as long as I turn it occasionally.
"Why do you like cats?"- It's something about the attitude. They go around with the ultimate sense of entitlement & you have to work for their affection, yet there's nothing more calming than a contented cat sleeping on you. And, due to the attitude, it funny as he** when they do something uncoordinated.
"If you could have any other pet what would you want?"- An African Grey parrot. Except that I feel like it may be cruelty to make them live in a house when I know that their natural habitat is so much more impressive.
"Who is in charge of money, you or DH or is it equal?"- Me. It works better that way. I don't like to make him feel bad about it though, so everything is discussed.
"How many pairs of shoes do you have?"- There are 7 pairs that I wear on a regular basis. And I'm not sure how many in the back of the closet.
"Are you into fashion and labels?"- Not really. If I like it, I like it. If I think it looks stupid, I'm not going to buy it regardless of who's name it has on it. The only brand I would buy for the logo is Baby Phat.
"Any hobbies?"- Oh yes! I crochet, cross-stitch, sew, decoupage, scrap book, & play piano. I like just about anything that I can do with my hands. And DH has put me on limits for Ho.bb.y Lob.by!

The inportant thing for me would be who lived there with me. And I would need a fast private jet so I could easily see those who couldn't live there with me. (anyone else ever think of how much easier life would be if someone would invent a transporter beam?) As far as bigger cities, I love Seattle. The style there (except the rain) suits me.

We were dating a few weeks after that. The funny thing is, he never really "tried" to impress me. We were friends & were just totally ourselves around each other. I didn't know he cared "that way" until the card.

I love how warm & green it is here, though I'm not a fan of the humidity. I really like that we're closer to my family. I dislike that it has to be a choice & that we're so far away from DH's family & our nieces. (i didn't like living by them, they drove me insane. but I wish we could visit them more & i feel bad that we're missing seeing the girls grow up) Also, this will sound stuck up & I'm really sorry for that- I dislike some of the 'Southern' ways of doing things. There are people here who don't have 2 IQ points to rub together, but dang they can reproduce! And heaven forbid we figure out how to eat things that aren't fried & smothered in mayo! Gag! I'm unhappy being the size I am, but I need only to go out to find women 3-4 sizes bigger than me, enjoying their fried foods in skin tight, boob-revealing clothing! Ok, sorry, done ranting.

I'm disappointed with Google
As you all know, yesterday was the 8yr anniversary of the 9/11 tradgedy. A day when many lives were lost & history was forever changed. Google did not do anything to commemorate. Bing had a beautiful memorium page, so did Ask. But Google, the same ones who have recently paid tribute to Tesla & Beatrix Potter, did nothing.

Ask me anything!
Well I called in today. It's raining & my stupid knee is so swollen I can hardly walk. I did not sleep well last night! Sitting at work yesterday was torture. My poor hoo-ha! On one side, the bruise is about 8" long & ranges from 1-2" wide. The other side has about a 3x1.5" bruise. I told poor DH that it's closed until further notice.
Anyway, to prevent massive whining, I figured I'd steal an idea & open this to my readers. Ask me anything, I'll answer them all in a later post. :)

Went shopping yesterday.
Seems to be the thing to have done this w/e! My mom had taken my older sis into Cath.eri.ne's on Sunday to get some new cloathes when I called her & messed up those plans (due to the bath tub tripping me). So mom needed to take her back yesterday for some much needed bras. Not the most fun trip, but I needed to get out of the house.
Sorta exciting- I'm used to grabbing 2x as the size I wear. Guess how happy I was when I tried on a cute jean jacket to find out that it was too big? :o) Actually, the 1x of that jacket was a little big too. I did end up getting a pretty blouse though. And my sis bought me a pair of earrings. That store is related to La.ne B.ry.ant, but not as 'modern', so I'm not as fond of their stuff. I was going to look for jeans, but it was too difficult to try them on with a leg brace.
Any way, I have a ton of laundry to ty to get done today. I'm hurting, but I think I'll make it through thanks to Dar.vo.cet. My dad asked last night if I'd have gone to the ER if I had ins. Umm, yes! That may well be the worst pain I've ever been in. I thought I was going to pass out or throw up. I considered calling an ambulance for about 5 mins, but decided against the bill when I figured out that nothing was broken. Dad just said "that's the problem with our medical system". Preaching to the choir! And that's just the START of what's wrong with our medical system!
I'll leave you with a thought & a pic. I had one of the chocolates that mom got me & the wrapper has sayings on the inside. It said "It's ok to slow down" It made me laugh because of how slow I've had to move the past couple of days. And here's a pic of someone who's known that advice her whole life-
This is Skittles. I got her 3 wks before we got married & she's not a fan of DH! (in her opinion, she has seniority!) She's about 2lbs heavier than she should be, but she's pretty active & wrestles with "the boys". She's bossy as all get out & will even yell at me if I break curfew. For some reason, she loves sleeping on her back, but that's NOT an invitation to touch her tummy!

A very purple bottom
Think eggplant color, nearly black. OUCH! My knee is ok, very swollen still, but I can hobble around a little. You really never notice how ofter you pee until every trip to the bathroom hurts. Thanks for all of your well wishes. I'll be sore for a couple days, but I will live. ;)
Other than that, not much going on. DH & I are going to mom & dad's for tacos tonight. (getting down the stairs should be interesting) DH wants to swim this afternoon. They'll be closing the pool soon. I won't get in, but I may go down & sit in the sun for a while.

Actually, all the ladies I started with blog now (or i have e-mail addresses of others), so I'm really not sure if I'll go back. All the new faces make it pretty clear though that IF is a real problem & more ins companies should step up & treat it as such.

Showering is hazardous!
I FELL getting out of the shower today! I think I slipped on the tile, it went really quick & hurt really bad! I was half out, so I landed HARD on my hoo-ha, that's going to bruise. And I wrenched up my knee. I've had it iced for a couple hours now (and my mom gave me dar.vo.cet, sorry if i seem loopy). The swelling is going down. I'm sure I didn't break anything, but it's sprained.
I'm ticked! I had plans of stuff to do with my 3 days off & laying on the couch in pain was NOT part of the plan. I'll stay off it today, but I'm really hoping it's good enough by tomorrow that I can get some stuff done. I was crying more from the frustration of a ruined w/e than from the pain. (though the pain is pretty bad)
DH took the night off & has been hovering. It's sweet, but the next time he readjusts the ice pack, I may clock him!
Ok, I caught up on blogs. I guess it's time for crochet or something now.
**Update** I'm bored! I'm in pain & this is NOT what I wanted to be doing this afternoon! There's nothing on tv & I can't get comfortable enough to work on a project. I went to We.bM.D to see what's up on the boards & I don' know who the heck any of the ladies are anymore! How is it possible that there are those of us who started that board & are still there when so many others come & go? I haven't bled yet from the fall, but I'm worried about the trauma to my hoo-ha totally screwing up this C. It hurts! And I don't know when it's going to feel better, so will I even have a chance at BDing at the right time this month? I am seriously ready to cry! :''o(

I'm alive!
Sorry I've been MIA. This week went super-fast! I've been trying to respond here & there to y'all's blogs. I'm working 3-11:30 tonight, then --- A 3 DAY WEEKEND!!!! Woohoo!
Ok, so AF showed up for real last Friday. Very heavy, with lots of clots. TMI- I "bled out" in 2 1/2 days! I will remember to get baby aspirin for this C. (i ran out a week or so before AF & didn't think it mattered that much. it does)
I need to read & report on 2 books in order to move up at work. I'm reading "Wh.o Mo.ved M.y Ch.ees.e?". It doesn't really take that long to read, unless you're trying to read it between calls. I recommend it. It's a lesson on how you view things in life that you have no control over. Basically, you can expect & anticipate change so you can move with it. Or you can get comfortable with the way things are & throw such a fit over changes that "aren't fair" that you end up doing more damage to yourself than the change does. If you haven't read it, definitely take an hour & do so. (it's crazy, but there are parts of it that make me tear up!)
Totally sucky news- my tv is messed up! It's a 52", rear projection, HD (jvc i'art, not like that matters). The color is out of allignment, so it looks like a red/blue 3-d image. It's almost 6 yrs old, but it shouldn't be doing this already! I'm going to try to adjust it tomorrow to see if it's fixable. It was one of our major arguements. DH bought it one day while I was gone & paid way too much for it (imo). I wait for electronics to get to the price that I want them at before I buy them, he wants them while they're hot new items. So, it's more the principle of the thing- if it gets replaced now, that breaks it down to $500/yr & that ticks me off. (plus, i don't want one more stupid bill right now!) Another example- he bought a dvd player (on my jcp card!) a month before we got married. It was $350. 20 months later, when the laser burnt out, it was replaced with a better one for about $100. This is my point. New electronics are cool & it's fun to be the first to have them, but they get BETTER & CHEAPER if you wait even a year!
Well, I'm going to get ready for work. If you know anyone who's looking for an apt, try to convince them to wait to call until Tues. (not that we take every call for every community, but you never know) If we're slow enough, I'm hoping I can get sent home early. :)

Ok, so AF showed up for real last Friday. Very heavy, with lots of clots. TMI- I "bled out" in 2 1/2 days! I will remember to get baby aspirin for this C. (i ran out a week or so before AF & didn't think it mattered that much. it does)
I need to read & report on 2 books in order to move up at work. I'm reading "Wh.o Mo.ved M.y Ch.ees.e?". It doesn't really take that long to read, unless you're trying to read it between calls.
